141. Impadronirsi – to take over/take possession

A: Why are we wasting so much time choosing a sofa? You know our dogs and cats will take it over.

B: Exactly, it has to be a great sofa!

142. Impegnarsi – to be committed/commit oneself/to work hard

A: Ti sei svegliato come Terminator oggi eh?

A: What does being committed mean to you?

B: Giving it your all to achieve a goal, no matter what or who gets in the way.

A: Even statistics?

B: Especially statistics. They're a distraction.

A: You woke up like the Terminator today, huh?

143. Inchinarsi – to bow

A: Mi inchino ai suoi desideri, Sua Maestà. Oggi preferisce i bocconcini al salmone o al vitello?

Ramses: Miao!

A: Un miao salmone, due miao vitello, tre miao sì, quattro miao no.

C: Ma cosa dici! Figurati se il gatto ti capisce!

A: Vuoi vedere? Ramses, Giorgio è simpatico?

Ramses: Miao, miao, miao, miao.

Ramses: Miao, miao, miao.

A: Te l’avevo detto...

A: I bow to your wishes, Your Majesty. Do you prefer salmon or veal bites today?

Ramses: Meow!

A: Okay, salmon bites.

C: Are you feeling okay? And how do you know he wants the salmon ones?

A: One meow means salmon, two mean veal, three mean yes, four mean no.

C: What are you talking about? As if the cat understands you!

A: Want to see? Ramses, is Giorgio nice?

Ramses: Meow, meow, meow, meow.

C: Come on, it must be a coincidence! Ramses, is Maia the best owner in the world?

Ramses: Meow, meow, meow.

A: I told you...

144. Indignarsi – to be outraged

E tu?

A: Sono d’accordo.

B: Ovviamente...

A: What are the things that outrage you the most?

B: War and animal cruelty. And you?

A: I agree. I'd also add a list of prominent figures, but I know you know who I'm talking about, so I don't need to say it.

B: Obviously...

145. Infettarsi – to get infected

A: Oh mio Dio mi sono infettato! Svelto, portami all’ospedale!

B: Eh?

A: Il mio pesce rosso!

B: ...

A: Oh my God, I'm infected! Quick, take me to the hospital!

B: Huh? What happened? I've been right here next to you the whole time, and nothing happened.

A: While I was feeding Tyson, he bit my finger!

B: Excuse me, but who is Tyson?

A: My goldfish!

B: ...

146. Infuriarsi – to get furious

A: Ovviamente!

A: I got furious when I saw my plant had fallen and all the flowers were broken, but then I calmed down.

B: Did you realize it's not worth getting angry about these things?

A: No, I saw on the security camera footage that it was the cat. Poor thing, he didn't do it on purpose.

B: Oh, but if it had been me, things would have been different...

A: Of course!

147. Ingegnarsi – to use one’s ingenuity

B: Oh, that's why you call her MacGyver!

148. Ingelosirsi – to get jealous

A: Ah...

A: Why do you seem so annoyed?

B: I got jealous of her dog.

A: Why on earth?

B: For Elizabeth Taylor's birthday, Marisa gave her a spa day, two cakes, and a castle. For mine, I got a pair of socks!

A: And who exactly is Elizabeth Taylor?

B: Marisa's dog!

A: Come on, maybe she's had the dog for a long time... and you haven't known each other that long.

B: We've known each other for three years, and she got the dog two weeks ago...

A: Oh...

149. Inoltrarsi – to venture into/go deep into

B: Fammi indovinare... La trama del tuo nuovo libro?

A: Sì, come hai fatto a indovinare?

B: Stile inconfondibile...

A: Venture into a world of joy, fantasy, and mastery, forgetting the fears that accompany the joys of the forest spirits.

B: Let me guess... The plot of your new book?

A: Yes, how did you guess?

B: Unmistakable style...

150. Insediarsi – to settle into

A: My pet pig has settled into the chair and won't budge.

B: And you can't sit down...
